CAMESE

CAMESE Canadian Association of Mining Equipment & Services for Export (CAMESE) is a trade association made up of Canadian member companies offering products and services to the mining industry. It was established in 1981 for the purpose of assisting members in marketing their goods and services in Canada and around the world.

CAMESE's more than 275 corporate members across the country supply the entire mining industry spectrum including mineral exploration, mine development, mining, mineral processing, environmental monitoring, smelting and refining. Most of these companies have been founded in Canada, initially to serve the Canadian mining industry, an important producer of mineral wealth.

The Canadian mining industry is very demanding; as a result, the companies that serve it offer high value, advanced technology.

CAMESE provides its members with cost-effective, international marketing support that is complementary to their own marketing and selling efforts. It is also the only organization collectively representing suppliers in advocating for a strengthened mining industry in Canada.

Over the past 15 years, CAMESE has organized Canadian participation at 142 international mining events. These have involved over 2 million visitors, 2,300 Canadian supplier booths, 2,200 posters shown in CAMESE booths and 11,000 business leads reported back to members. Spending by CAMESE and Canadian suppliers at these events is estimated to be in excess of $30 million.

CAMESE's web presence started in 1998, with website redesigns in 2003 and 2009. Traffic at CAMESE.org has grown by leaps and bounds. In 2010, more than 623,000 user sessions led to over 5.8 million page views, 61% of which were on member profiles and over 166,000 were related to connecting with members.

CAMESE publishes the Compendium of Canadian Mining Suppliers. It is an annual publication designed to showcase the mining suppliers that comprise the membership.
