University of Alberta

Founded a century ago, the University of Alberta is one of the top 100 teaching and research universities in the world serving more than 36,000 students with 11,000 faculty and staff. It offers close to 400 undergraduate, graduate and professional programs in 18 faculties. Created - in the words of its first president, Henry Marshall Tory - "for the uplifting of the whole people," the university is committed to inspiring the human spirit through outstanding achievements in learning, discovery and citizenship and building one of the world's great universities for the public good.

University of British Columbia

At UBC, the Norman B. Keevil Institute of Mining Engineering carries out a broad range of research that promotes sustainability and better working processes in British Columbia, Canada and throughout the world. Within NBK Mining, there are several research centres. Supported by government programs, as well as by mining companies, research at the Institute covers a wide spectrum including mine safety, robotics, environmental and social issues.

As one of Canada's leading engineering schools and faculties, Polytechnique ranks among world's top research universities. Polytechnique has one of the highest concentrations of engineering professors/researchers in Canada. It also has the largest volume of industry-partnered research grants. Institution trains the next generation of world-class engineers who benefit from state-of-the art infrastructure and equipment.

Laurentian University

Laurentian University is located in Sudbury, the world's largest exploration/mining/service/education cluster, offers a wide range of BSc/MSc/PhD and professional programs across the entire mining cycle (exploration, aboriginal consultation, mining, economics, health and safety, environmental), and operates a fleet of world-leading mining-related research centres.

Universite Laval

Located in Québec City, recognized by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site, Université Laval boasts a tradition of excellence in its academic programs and major breakthroughs in its research activities.

The University of Manitoba is the province's largest university, with over twenty faculties. The Faculty of Engineering is comprised of: Biosystems, Civil, Electrical & Computer, Mechanical & Manufacturing and the Design Engineering Group. Biosystems Engineering program focuses on number of specializations including bio-environmental control, soil and water engineering, environmental engineering.

McGill University

Located in Montreal, Quebec, the McGill Department of Mining and Materials Engineering covers a wide spectrum of research activity. There are 3 labs in mining engineering alone, and McGill continually strives for increased funding to further advance research capabilities.  

Memorial University

Memorial University of Newfoundland is the largest university in Atlantic Canada located primarily in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. The Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science offers six degree programs: civil engineering, computer engineering, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, ocean and naval architectural engineering (the only program of its kind in Canada), and process engineering.

Founded in 1785, UNB offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in more than 60 disciplines and continuing education in a variety of fields such as arts, science, business administration, computer science, nursing, engineering, education, forestry, law and kinesiology, as well as certificate and diplomas.
At UNB Saint John, two years' full credit leading to the BSc. (Eng) is offered in civil, chemical, computer, electrical and mechanical engineering. One year's full credit is available in geodesy and geomatics, geological, forest and software engineering.

The Université du Québec en Abitibi-Témiscamingue, sometimes informally known as UQAT, is a public university within the Université du Québec network, with campuses in Val-d'Or and Rouyn-Noranda.

The Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM) is a public French-language university of international influence. The quality of its programs, its research in social issues and its innovations in the creative arts are the foundation of its reputation. Firmly engaged in research, it offers over 300 programs of study.

Queen's University

Queen's University is one of Canada's leading universities, with an international reputation for scholarship, research, social purpose, and spirit. Consistently highly-ranked, Queen's is known for its incomparable 24-hour learning environment. Great teaching, great students, community and tradition - these are the hallmarks of the Queen's experience. Located in Kingston, Ontario, Queen's offers departments of Mining Engineering, Geological Engineering and Geological Sciences.

The University of Saskatchewan is a Canadian public research university, was founded in 1907. The College of Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan is committed to innovation in all aspects of engineering education and research. It offers numbers of programs including Environmental Engineering and Geological Engineering.

University of Toronto

The Lassonde Institute of Mining is an interdisciplinary research institute within the University of Toronto. It is created to be at the forefront of leading-edge research in a whole spectrum of mining activities, from mineral resource identification, to mine planning and excavation, to extraction and processing.

Founded in 1878, the University of Western Ontario delivers 'The Western Experience', an exemplary learning experience that engages the best and brightest people challenging them to meet ever-higher standards in the classroom and beyond. The Faculty of Engineering's areas of special expertise include: energy, biomedical applications of mechatronics, natural disaster mitigation and management, water technologies, nanotechnology, and much more.

University of Windsor

University of Windsor is an internationally oriented, multi-disciplined institution that actively encourages a broad diversity of students, faculty and staff. The Faculty of Science at University of Windsor offers excellent, contemporary, academically challenging programs and hands-on experience in labs using industry-standard equipment and software. The departments include: Biological Sciences, Chemistry and Biochemistry, Computer Science, Earth and Environmental Sciences, Economics, Mathematics and Statistics and Physics.

The University of Winnipeg offers undergraduate faculties of art, business and economics, education, science and theology as well as graduate programs. The University of Winnipeg's founding colleges were Manitoba College and Wesley College, which merged to form United College in 1938. The University of Winnipeg was established in 1967 when United College received its charter. The Faculty of Science offers unique and diverse programs including Environmental Studies.
